Jetzt mal ne ganz doofe Frage: Ok, "Feta cheese is traditionally made from goat’s and/or sheep’s Greek milk in the mainland and Lesvos.", originally, aber man kann auch hier Feta aus Kuhmilch kaufen, soweit ich weiß. Warum soll es das also in D nicht geben?

richtig, man kann (konnte) hier auch Feta aus Kuhmilch kaufen und zwar deshalb weil es freigestellt war den (weissen) Käse so zu nennen wie man wollte. Dies ist aber eben jetzt, nicht nur in DE sondern in der ganzen E.U. nicht mehr gestattet.
Feta muss nun aus Schafs- oder Ziegenmilch gemacht sein weil eben nur der original, traditionell in GR hergestellte weisse Käse dann auch ein Feta ist.

Mir wird es bei dem Bezeichnungswirrwarr auch schon ganz schwindlig.

Ganz genau kann es dir auch Wikipedia erklären.
